چکیده

Background and Aim: The prebiotic potential of lactulose is well known, but its effect to inhibit enteric bacterial dynamics gut permeability has not yet been investigated in experimental studies. present study aims assess the effects on a model bile duct ligation Wistar rats. Methods: rats were assigned into 3 groups, Sham-operated control, ligated (BDL) BDL+ Lac group 28th day ligation. Animals BDL + groups treated with (1.0 g/kg), administrated by gavage, once for 7 days. Bacterial translocation organs overgrowth as indicators levels DAO D-lactate biochemical makers measured each group. Results: colony forming units (CFU) spleen liver BDL+Lac was significantly decreased compared (P<0.01) significant decrease CFU seen intestinal lavage (P<0.01). On other hand, Lactulose revealed inhibitory evidence decreasing plasma activity this model. Conclusion: These results indicate that can overgrowth, (BT) increasing opening mucosa tight junction ductal obstruction obviate even systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) multiple organ dysfunction (MODS) induced obstructive jaundice.

The protective effects of curcumin and curmumin nanomicelle against cirrhotic cardiomyopathy in bile duct-ligated rats

Objective(s): Cirrhotic cardiomyopathy refers to cardiac muscle dysfunction caused by liver cirrhosis. Seemingly, free radicals and inflammatory factors play a critical role in the pathophysiology of cardiomyopathy. Curcumin has the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anticancer properties . However, the therapeutic indications of this compound are limited due to its low absorption, rapid metab...

Effects on bacterial translocation of high-fat enteral nutrition in bile duct ligated rats.

OBJECTIVE Bacterial Translocation (BT) from the gastrointestinal system is at the center of current sepsis theories. In patients with obstructive jaundice, the absence of intraluminal bile flow causes some alterations and mucosal damage in the gut. In the present study, it was aimed to investigate the effects on BT of high-fat enteral nutrition in bile duct ligated rats. MATERIAL AND METHODS ...

The effect of berberine nanomicelles on hepatic cirrhosis in bile duct-ligated rats

Objective (s): The anti-fibrotic effect of chronic berberine (BBR) had demonstrated previously in a rat model of bile duct ligation (BDL). The aim of present study was to investigate hepatoprotective effect of BBR nanomicelles on liver cirrhosis induced by BDL in male rats.Materials and methods: After 21 days of drugs’ treatments, the serum and tissue levels of hepatic markers were measured and...

Effect of captopril on TNF-α and IL-10 in the livers of Bile Duct ligated Rats

Background: The renin-angiotensin system has an important role in hepatic inflammation and fibrosis. Renin-angiotensin system blockade by angiotensinconverting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors provides some protective effects against hepatic fibrogenesis. Captopril as an ACE inhibitor can decrease inflammatory mediators and attenuate hepatic fibrosis in the livers of bile duct ligated (BDL) rats. Object...

Effects of cholestasis on learning and locomotor activity in bile duct ligated rats.

BACKGROUND Cognitive functions are impaired in patients with liver disease. Bile duct ligation causes cholestasis that impairs liver function. This study investigated the impact of cholestasis progression on the acquisition and retention times in the passive avoidance test and on the locomotor activity of rats. METHODS Cholestasis was induced in male Wistar rats by ligating the main bile duct...
